A storm looms on the horizon as afternoon clouds scatter. Most of my landscapes are started from a prompt, usually a vintage photo from my own collection, but then go on to become something different. Skies are something I love to paint, and I usually pay no attention whatsoever to the sky in my reference image, I just go to with paint and brushes and swirl clouds and sky colors until it looks “right”.
