In Greek mythology Persephone spends half the year as Hades wife in the Underworld resulting in Winter in the human world above. She returns and we get Spring and Summer, but that leaves the question of Fall- a beautiful but bittersweet time of year. Here I imagine Persephone’s dream of the Fall landscape, with flaming leaves and dancing tree trunks and cold clouds scurrying above, as she spends her half-year in the Underworld, waiting to return.
A 10×10 acrylic painting on canvasboard, framed and ready to hang.
